eos Smooth Sphere Lip Balm Review & Photo

Thursday, October 10, 2013

Hey beauties!

I'd been contemplating buying this next product for a while before I took the plunge.  I had what I thought was the be-all and end-all in lip care, my trusty Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm (more on Jack in another post).  But alas, my HG (Holy Grail) has been dethroned by these beauties (the balm, not you guys J).  My new lip lovey is 100% natural, 95% organic and paraben and petroleum free.  It is none other than...

eos Evolution of Smooth, Smooth Sphere Lip Balm ($2.99 for 0.25 oz.) is my new love in lip care.  I cannot say enough about this product, but before we dive in, let's look at the ingredients shall we.

***Ingredients: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D'abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Limonene**, Linalool**. *Organic. **Component of Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*. Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth.

***The ingredient list for Sweet Mint flavor.

I mean really...it doesn't get much butter than that.  Olive, coconut and jojoba oils, shea butter, vitamin E and beeswax.  Just talking about this has me reaching for my little sphere of goodness...excuse me while I apply...

Check out the texture!
...Okay I'm back! J  They are all colorless and look like refined shea butter.  The consistency is creamy from the oils and shea and melts on my lips like butter.  This balm is hydrating, long lasting and delicious!  I have personally tried the pomegranate raspberry, strawberry sorbet, summer fruit, and the honeysuckle honeydew, but my absolute favorite is the sweet mint!  Let's look at them one by one.

Sweet mint has real peppermint oil in the mix, so the smell and taste are both authentic, not artificial at all.  I love this most about the sweet mint.  It also tingles a bit on the lips and is perfect for colder months.  This is by far my favorite!

Pomegranate raspberry is my second favorite of the bunch.  In regards to smell and taste, it reminds me of Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Blast, which I happen to love.  It's sweet, berry and a little bit tart.  I really like this one.

Strawberry sorbet smells like strawberries and cream, but is slightly artificial.  This may be more of a preference thing, but I didn't love it.  The smell and taste were a bit waxy in my opinion.  It performed as well as the rest though.

Summer fruit is my least favorite.  This is definitely a preference issue.  It smells and tastes like passion fruit, which I don't care for in a lip balm.  If you are a passion fruit lover, you will really like this one.  Again, it performs as well as the rest.

Honeysuckle honeydew lives up to its name.  It smells most like honeydew, but there are some honeysuckle notes there.  It does smell a bit oily, but once applied, it is unnoticeable.  This one also has the least flavor of the bunch.  I use it most when I'm around the house.  All and all, I like this one.

The line also offers blueberry acai, medicated tangerine and lemon drop with SPF 15.

I really love the packaging on these.  The lid is a twist off and it closes securely with a little click.  Lovely!  But, my favorite feature of these butter balls is the shape.  To apply, I press my lips together, place the sphere in the center and glide from left to right.  It fits perfectly between pursed lips.

The only down side I can think of is that as the sphere wears down from use, you will be left to dig the product out with your finger.  This is unsanitary unless you are careful to wash your hands immediate prior to using, but that is just not practical when you're on the go.  Alas, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.  I think these are still totally worth it and I give them a 5 out of 5 stars!

If you haven't given these a try, you must!  At Harmon's Discount Health & Beauty they are $2.99 a pop and at that price, how can you really go wrong?  If you disagree, you've really only invested three bucks. But trust me, you'll love it!

Later beauties!

Has anyone else tried eos Smooth Sphere Lip Balm?
Do you love it as much as I do?

  5. i LOVE them! i stumbled across strawberry in CVS on a late night random run one day...and didn't love it (you're right, the scent/flavor is just...off) but i used the majority of it because i hate wasting money lol. I then found the mint one (pale green sphere) and LOVE how it makes my lips tingle. It's definitely my favorite so far. I also have the orange one, tangerine flavored, which is cool also. The vanilla bean is on my wish list, and i know it's limited edition but i wasn't able to find them in stock anywhere! ugh lol
